Had the best day out on the water yesterday....We took the boat out and had our first go on the Tube....Teish and Sarah were as keen as to have a go....I on the other hand had no intention on getting on but so glad that i did....i must admit it was fun....
But the best part of the day came Teish had her 2nd go.....

Here we go......this was so funny.....even she was laughing when she came off and was waiting for us to go pluck her out....

Im not getting much scrapbooking done, now we have the boat.....Ah well...the cooler weather will be here before we know it....

I'm a huge fan of English Rose from kaisercraft.....We have just done this workshop in store. I didnt have the soft green i wanted for the frame, so i used a soft pink instead.....I have since done the green and now i cant make up my mind.....

How much fun is Christmas....Im having loads of fun this year making cards and off the page projects....Some may not be presents, instead just gift ideas for the shop...but im still having a lot of fun...

I have so much more to share but just need to take some pics....

As much as I'm enjoying the cake decorating......I do still get creative with my scrapbooking and card making.....I needed a pretty fix but wanted to keep them simple, so this is what I came up with...........

I hope it rains all week-end, because my mind is going crazy with all these ideas I have.....and I'm planning on getting a heaps of display work done this week-end......

I cant get over how much fun i am having....I did another class with Jackie at Contemporary Cakes....I was a little chuffed when i can home with this masterpiece....
I did have to laugh...Glenn asked if he could have a piece....of course i said yes....but he didn't know where to cut.......he didn't want to wreck it......how sweet....

Now i just need to find time to make others.....however we start Christmas at the shop next week, so i might just have to make some Christmas cupcakes to go with my Christmas creations
I have such a hard life....

I have a new addiction...other than Facebook that is....

I have been wanting to do this for a long time....I would go and buy books just so i could look at the pretty pictures.....Well with Lateisha's 18th Birthday in a couple of weeks, it got me thinking....I did some searching for somebody to do her birthday cake.....and after watching shows like Ace of Cakes and Cake Boss.....there are so many talented people in our local area that i just had way to many to choose from....in the end Teish wanted a very plane cake but that didn't stop me from wanted to learn how to make and decorate my own....So I did it....

and this is my first lesson. We made 6 Cupcakes from scratch...I am never going back to packed mixes again..........

I did promise the girls from the gym my first batch....

And then just like any hobby, you can't wait to get home and play some more.....and once again, they all but a few ended up back at the gym.......and of course they were low fat ones....hehehe

Now I cant wait for the next class, where I will be making a Shooting Star cake...and this one will be for the family......

But a big Thank You goes out to Jackie from Contemporary Cakes at Daisy Hill.....She's one very talented lady.......

I have been doing some scrapping....more on that soon....

I had so much fun doing this layout...It had been a long long time since i did anything that i would normally do.....Don't get me wrong...I love doing my class work, but i really do enjoy when i get to do a layout just for me....and one that involves loads of cutting out......I thought it was about time i shared the full picture....You just soooo have to love Bo Bunny.....

For a long time I felt like I had lost my way....I was doing a lot of easy pages for the shop and just got into a easy routine with them....at the same time I felt like I'd lost my Mojo.....
Well it's back....my Mojo that is....I've had so much fun Scrapbooking over the past couple of weeks, I just want to yell it from the roof tops.....Here are just a couple of my favourite layouts.....I have a few OTP I want to do as well, but finding the time is another thing......why are there just never enough hours in a day.......I just love working with bright papers......Ive been wanting to scrap these photo's of Ashleigh for a long time and when I saw these papers, I knew straight away what photo's to use......and as usual both Layouts will end up as classes in the shop, but I'm just happy to be scrapping the way I like to......

I have a thing for Vintage at the moment, so let's see how much fun I can have stepping out of the "box".......

I was reminded today on how long it's been since my last post....To be honest, I just thought this blog was for me, a way for me to just ramble when it didn't matter if anybody was listening or not.........and didn't really think anybody would notice me missing in action......mind you face book has been a little on the addictive side...

So it's been 3 months since my last post and so much has happened...work has been really busy and the girls.....OMG how quick do things change when boyfriend come into the picture....Glenn and i feel like were dating all over again.......In one way that's nice and in another, well it's going to take a little getting used too.....so much time on our hands...no running around after them every five minutes like were used to......they both have jobs and the eldest is driving on her own now.......and as for me........

My god where do i start.......how about a layout.....I did this layout for a Cricut Class.....I really enjoyed doing this page.....I think more so because it was a wedding layout....

Well i hope for those of you who do take interest.....i will promise not to take so long to get back on here....I have heaps of layouts and cards to share.....

OMG I am so addicted to Facebook that i spend all my time on there and forget about here.....

It has been pretty crazy around here, Lateisha now has her P's, so she is never home.....Ashleigh still trying to see how much she can get away with and as for Glenn and I...well we have been boat shopping for the past 8 weeks....We have set ourselves a goal this year....Fingers crossed we will find the right one...

I also had my first acceptance in Scrapbook Creations Magazine...I was quiet shocked they accepted one of my cards....yippee i say....i was a little chuffed.....

I still love scrapbooking but at the moment i seem to be drawn to cards.....Here is a page that i did.....I was inspired to do this after I saw a project from "Michell from Print Blocks"....

I don't like to lift but when I was the 3D Box that she did I just had to do a page version......

I have no excuse for not blogging in such a long time......but i will confess that i will be seeing a follower tomorrow so i thought i had better blog before she tells me it's been a while....
But I can say that the past month or so has been so busy.....Lateisha goes for her "P's" very soon which I'm not looking forward to.....don't think I'm ready to loosen those apron strings just yet...and
my normally healthy one, Ashleigh has been sick with glandular fever.....but i can happily say that she is back to her normal self now and trying to get away with things normal teenagers do....i think she forgets that her older sister has been there and done that not so long ago and she also forgets that she is not good at hiding things from us.....Lateisha on the other hand was a master at it....
In between the teenage stuff i have also been busy getting creative...here is just a little i have been doing....

Thought i would try the new Kaiser papers for a Christmas layout.... and i have a new addiction to Sugar Nellie stamps....they are just beautiful....still finding my feet with stamping but I'm having so much fun trying....

Christmas was so much fun this year, mind you the girls think they are to old for stack on....I don't think so...to me it's just like not believing in Santa...if you don't believe you don't receive.....the girls normally wake us up with a stack on (jumping on us to wake up)...well this year we heard them rummaging in their Christmas stockings,,,,we were waiting,,,and waiting,,and waiting.....so by 8am and still no sign of the girls who mind you had gone back to bed....so we decided to do the stacks on them instead.....
We had a great Christmas day with family both lunch and dinner....Glenn's Uncle Lindsey and Judy were over from WA, so we got to spend plenty of time catching up with them.....and i even managed to get some scrapbooking done..not as much as i would have liked, but better than none at all....Now I'm just waiting for Glenn to go back to work after is operation, so i can get all those things done that i had planned on getting done but didn't cause he was home...

You cant half tell they want me to hurry up and take this photo so they can go back to bed....

well Lateisha anyway....

Had a great week-end up the coast with Glenn and the girls. Mind you we didn't see the girls much, which left Glenn and I time to just relax and do nothing.....and that is what we did....If you havn't seen the movie "Hangover" you just have to see it.....And being the night owl that I am, i did manage to get an OTP project done....This Brag book was so much fun...Now its time to get stuck into some layouts.

I thought it was about time i step out of this little box i scrap in....and can i just say....I'm having so much fun with it.....
It all started by making my own flowers. The rest of the layout was worked out around them...I know...it's funny how my mind works sometimes....
But let me just say....while I've been stuck at work for the past 3 weeks, I've been forced to get creative and take on Lesley's work.....and in the mean time I've got a little mojo back...and god it feels good......First came the layout and then came the cards.....

Has it really been that long since i was last here.....I was out of action 10 days with a head cold.....not much fun......it was good to have a forced break but the worst is always when you go back to work and you have twice as much work to catch up on...not to mention...layouts for classes......but i can say that it is good to be back in the land of the living....and back at the gym....

How good was today...The girls and I had a great day with Glenn....He got the usual "stack's on dad" first thing in the morning with a big sloppy kiss by both girls. Bacon and Eggs for breaky then it was off to spend the afternoon together.

We spent the afternoon at Southbank. We drove to Brett's Wharf and caught the Citycat to Southbank....It was good. I got to show the girls some of my stomping grounds as we went past, and we even got to show the girls where Glenn proposed and where we got married....

So after a good afternoon walking around the markets and having a feed we even managed some family photos...

And to top the day off, we came across the best little candy store and I just had to get a "choo choo bar"....amongst other things......

Here is a challenge I give myself every two weeks....Every second monday I do a Cricut Class for those people who are lucky enough to have a machine and so it doesnt gather dust in the corner. The idea is to only use your Cricut machine and very, very little else...as you can see 97% of this layout is done by using the machine.

I have had the best week-end. Glenn and I spent the week-end down the coast for our wedding anniversary. You might think it's strange that I took my scrapbooking gear with me but we both took something that we enjoy. Glenn's was his fishing rod and mine was my scrap trolley....and I think I can finally say that I'm getting my "mo-jo" back.
We wanted to relax and do nothing while we were away and thats what we did....apart from the shopping, walking along the beach from Broadbeach to Surfers Paradise and then thinking "holly crap- now we have to walk back" and to top the week-end off we had our anniversary dinner at "Valentinos". If you like a good Italian meal and your down that way, then you just have to stop in for a meal....It just has to be my favorite resaurant of all time.....
Being the night owl that i am, here is a sneak peak at what i got started. Now that im home i will finish it of....this layout has got me so excited about scrapbooking again..

I've been playing again....It's so nice to be able to do things for me and not for work....Here is one of the cards i did at the retreat.

So much has happened over the past few weeks, that i don't know where to start....
My youngest daughter got her first job this week....lets just say that I'm finding this one a little hard to deal with. Even though she can rest her chin on the top of my head, you just never want the little(youngest) ones to grow up....mind you we took her shopping today and she was still happy to spend my money and not hers......

How good is this sunshine....I have the joy of celebrating my 18th wedding anniversary next week. And i must say that it's with the most wonderful and sexiest man i know.....were heading of for a few days away this week-end....I sooo cant wait........i have two little social butterflies, so poor Nana is going to have her hands full running the girls to work and then to gatherings....i dare say that mum will need a few days off after we get back.......

I have a little sweet talking to do with Glenn....my camera is broken.....fingers crosses i get get another one very very soon....i have so much i want to share......

Well its time for me to do some work or shall i say creating....

I thought it was about time i posted a layout.....Here is one i did for this weeks Design Studio...

Every 3 weeks during the V8 Cars season Glenn and I have what we call a "Lazy" week-end...It's the one week-end a month that we spend doing absolutely nothing....and will any luck it will rain so we don't feel guilty about lounging around in our pj's, falling asleep on the lounge during the race...and I'm my case....waking up just as the race is on the last lap......But it's our time together and we look forward to it.....but i have so much creative juice in my head at the moment....i have two scrapbook workshops to plan for as well as a card making one..... So not falling asleep watching the race for me this week-end.......I'm really keen to see how much i can get done.....

I am so excited....I had a visit from my brother Steven and his wife Gail this week.....i haven't seen him for nearly 6yrs....It was SO good to see them.....it was like no time had passed......the only change was his grey hair or lack of.......we spent four days catching up on just about anything and everything....and then they tell us they are coming back up at Christmas time.....and with them they will be bringing my nephew and his daughter.....little Summer.....she is two now and from the way talk about her, she is just beautiful.....
So all this sitting around for the past few days has really got the creative juices flowing.....mind you i have now been given a new subjuect to scrapbook.....you guesed it.....Summer......and much to my delight......you got...girly pages.....

Why do long week-ends always feel so short... We decided that after 3yrs, we need a week-end away....so we packed up the girls and off we went....and now that the girls are getting older, we are getting to that stage where the girls would rather not come with us....but dad put his foot down and as it turned out we all had a great time....We headed for Alex Heads up the coast...

We stayed at the Seaforth.....and it was great.....here are some photos....this was our view from out balcony

Why is it that while your away trying to unwind.....that you spend the week-end eating total crap.....i feel so sick after the amount of naughty food that i ate.....look out gym here i come.....actually one thing i thought was really good.......i didn't end up taking any scrapbooking stuff away with me and even though i did take my gym gear....i didn't use it........i was so proud of myself.....i can honestly say that i did have a relaxing week-end.....

Even though it was a little on the cool side.....well for me anyway.....Glenn and I did manage a nice stroll along the beach.....we even sat and watched the over 55's surf contest....and let me say, that while they were out in the water....you couldn't tell weather they were 15 or 55....they were really good.....Glenn even picked up some really flat and interesting pebbles along the beach....he said they were for my pages that i was going to do on our week-end......well i take it I'm doing a layout now.....As for the girls, they spent most of the week-end in the room watching movies......and we took them shopping as usual.....then back to the room for more movies....well next time they can stay home......mind you they did have fun once dad had a few drinks and they decided to have a pillow fight at 10pm.......

Night In with the girls....

OMG don't we just love taking photos.....well we thought it was about time....every week or so, the girls and I get together and catch up.....Krissy and I decided it was time to crash Nic's house and of course Krissy's camera is never far away.....we were meant to get some stampin done, but as usual we got very little done.....maybe next time.......

As you all know, boy layouts are not my strong point but i thought it was about time i shared some layouts with you.....The first was for out "Kits", the second was for out Cricut Class and I just had to throw in a girly one.....we are just waiting on few items and this will be available again as a kit.

They are all nice and easy, which is really good when you have scrappers block.....We are going away for the long week-end, and being the night owl that i am.....you got it......I'm taking some scrappin stuff with me......so fingers crossed that the nice sea breeze and ocean views gets my creative juices flowing again.....have a great week-end .......xxx

The Day that Burpengary got flooded

We have lived in this area for the past 13 yrs and I must say we have never seen anything like it before.... We've had heavy rain before, but nothing like this....Since the moment I woke up until about 11am the rain just didn't stop.... It took me 1hr and 5mins to drive my daughter to school....only to be told to pick her up and hour later......anyway I went to work as usual and my mid morning I was just in awe of what was going on outside work.....I was walking a customer out of the store when I looked across the road and saw the intersection.....My god....i couldn't believe it....but what was even funnier was watching the idiots driving thru it......and then later in the day....kids playing in it...I think we lost count of the amount of cars that got stuck in it.....The shops around us were all closing so i decided to do the same.....just as i was leaving the sun was starting to shine.....but the funny thing was.....there was an eery feeling around.....like you were in the eye of a storm....maybe I'm weird but it was just strange.....

As usual, Glenn missed it all and was sleeping..... So i went home and when he woke up he wanted to go for a drive and see for himself....by the time we got down, the sun was well and truly out and had a bit of sting to it and the water had started to go down......

We also wanted to look at the bridge that is the centre of our lives as we drive over it up to 4 times a day......

Now check this out....The bridge has a walkway that goes under the highway......here is the street light leading under the bridge....

And this is the local park....

They say we have more rain on the way......If you have to drive in it....please be safe

My saying of the week.

"It's easy helping them grow up, but it's even harder watching them grow up"

Our youngest daughter Ashleigh turned 14 today, and as usual she was spoilt rotten...one of her presents was a new camera....Both the girls take the best photo's and know that good or bad i will scrap it.....so you can just imagine how many photos I have to play with....Ashleigh has taken this photo herself all i can say is "bring on the photo's".....

Looking at this photo also makes me take a step back and look at my girls, I'm so proud of both of them....Don't get me wrong, I am far from having perfect children, my god they are teenagers after all.....and no angels....but like any parent still so proud.....

The past few weeks have been very busy.....I had a birthday over Easter and can tell you that Glenn got be the absolute best present ever....4 Personal Training sessions at the gym....I know to some that would be the worst present in the world but for me it was the "bomb'....My trainer Jodie is just the best.....tough but she does boxing and that is ssooooo goooooodddd....mind you for the following 3 days after a session, i know I'm alive...well i can feel all those muscles i didn't know i had.....
We stayed home over Easter but have decided to try for a holiday in June. You will soon learn why......
For Glenn's 40th late last year I got him a voucher for 5 V8 fast laps down at Qld Raceway.....Well we finally booked in and at 5am.......yes 5am Sunday i dragged myself out of bed and away we went.....When we got there we couldn't believe how many other people were there ....there was just people everywhere....mind you we didn't know what to expect....
Glenn signed in, got into his race gear and then went to debriefing.......half hour later and he was ready......he headed straight for a car.....here we were waiting for him to jump into a Holden but no he got a Ford.....not that there is anything wrong with that....but anyway.....and away he went...He had a blast......He said it was just the best....So girls if your looking for something for the man in your life why not....He is already planning the next time....but he said 8 laps instead of 5 would be better.....you just start to get into in by the 4th lap and then its time to pit.....
For his 30th I made him jump out of a plane, 40th put him in a V8 car....now what can i do for his 50th.....bungee..........

So after our V8 Experience and then watching the V8's on TV we are looking at heading to Townsville in June for the V8's. I'm still trying to talk him into going to Bathurst....

Dont you just love getting creative......I went to a PMS at Vicki's as week or so ago and now Iv'e got the stamp bug big time.......So I cant wait to go again this friday night to the Stampin Up launch of the new catalogue.....and i have even decided to go to my first retreat....and yes you guesed it...it will be the Stampin Up retreat in July....
Here is my latest creation.....I know to some of you that this may sound funny.....but i now know how to use my blenda pens.......thanks Vick.........im learning all these new things with stamping and i cant wait to use then in my layouts........

OMG...I am feeling so sorry for myself today.....you see i had my first PT session yesterday and boy can i feel it today....i feel like i am walking around with 20kgs on each leg....as you all know i am a huge fan of the gym, but i normally stick to the group fitness classes....

Well as i do before every birthday, i start to think just because I'm getting older, it doesn't mean i have to slow down.....i mean I've been going thru this every since i turned 30....well as another one draws closer i thought i would prove that your never to old....so i booked in for a Personal Training session with Jodie at Fitness n Motion.....(my favorite hang out)...Now i chose Jodie because i know she likes to put a little boxing in the mix....well i walked away from my PT feeling on top of the world...i was so impressed with Jodie and my workout that i booked in for another.....so really i have nobody to blame but myself, but yes it is feel sorry for myself day....mind you I'm still going to class tonight......

Anyway enough of my self pity......I have been busy creating yet again and i thought it was about time i shared some ideas...I haven't done any 3D for a while so here is one i prepared earlier...this is the You & Me kit.....Oh and this just has to be my fav photo of my girls at the moment....and the most recent....now the girls are getting older they are slowing down with the amount of time the spend in front of the camera......Teish starts her Make-up section of her course soon and i just know she will love the camera then......

And as we can see, I am back to doing "girly" once again..... I really enjoyed doing this layout of Ashleigh....I always do teish and ash always gets left out....well not anymore.....she had been taking some beautiful photos of herself...and i have finally got around to getting them printed....so yes this one i really enjoyed doing.....

I thought it was about time i stepped out of my square and stopped working on white.......so with this one, I went for Black instead.....now this was a first for me......but i was so pleased with the way it turned out....

I finally worked it out.......How to change the background of my blog that is.....It's a long story but now it's done i can have some fun playing around and making some changes..... But can i just say how much i enjoy Scrapbooking at the moment.....For those who know me well, you will know how long it can take me to do a layout, well let me just say that i did 3 layouts in one week-end....so proud of me.....I have even got the Card bug at the moment...

How time fly's .....

My weeks holiday was great....I got to bug the girls and also annoy Glenn for a full week....well sort of.....

We got the girls the Twilight Books - all 4 of them for Christmas. So if any off you have them you will know they are not small books by any means.... Well.....my darling little Ashleigh spent from Christmas day till the day before School went back, reading the 4 books.....it annoyed me that much, that i went to see the movie....and i must say it wasn't to bad. Now she is bugging me for the 5th book.....I know what it looks like, i just have to find it...

And Check out what Lateisha's been up to.......It has turned into a daily event now.... so every time we go out we let Teish drive so she can get the 100 hrs needed....as it is, she needs to drive 2hrs a week....and where we live everything is only 5 or 10mins away.....

I did manage to get some scrapbooking done, but while i was getting excited over how creative i was getting i was neglecting the layouts that needed to be done for classes........and when them penny finally dropped i can tell you that the pressure was on.....mind you i do find i do some of my best work under pressure....

And i cant forget Glenn's new toy......I think the picture says it all..... could the smile get any bigger?

Well as you can see, i am off to a great start with my New years Resolutions......

1 Exercise.....doing well

2 Scrapbook for me.......well this is going ok but by doing this i am falling behind getting my class work done....

3 Be a better Blogger.......well that one speaks for itself.....I'm still working on it.....

4 Being a better friend......well this one is going well......I've had a few get togethers over the past few weeks......and it's be so nice to catch up with everybody....

Well i think that will do it for now.....i do have heaps more going on but I'm having a brain overload at the moment....

Today is going sssoooooooo slow......Not that I'm going anywhere but I'm on holidays from 4pm today......yee ha....I have a full week to annoy Glenn and the girls.....they are sssooooooo going to love that....

I only made a few New Years Resolutions this year.....
1 Exercise more.....this one i know i will keep.....
2 Scrapbook more for me.....not just because i have to....

You may think that last one is a bit strange, but i have a friend who has 5 children and i have only met 3 of them....yep that's right....we send each other Christmas cards every year, well to be honest she always sends me one and i always forget to reply but this year i did send her one....and you want to know the sad thing......she only lives 20 mins from me.....
2009 is off to a great start for me already. I hope that if you did make any resolutions or just made goals to work towards, i hope all goes well.....

Here are a couple of projects i want to share.

This desk Calender was inspired by a workshop i did with Lynette Carol from K & Co just before Christmas.

This is also another Calender, this was my 2008 Masters Entry that for those of you who know me would know i stuffed up, when i sent the entry in i left out a layout which made it null and void.....always this year....

And last but not least.....................

I finally did it.....I Joined Stampin Up.....

I was introduced to Stampin Up mid to late last year and just fell in love with it....I can see myself doing this for a very long time. If you think Scrapbooking is addictive.... well you should try Stampin up... I couldn't hold of any longer. The benefits of joining we just amazing....I look forward to my year ahead and plan to share some of my card designs very soon...

Gee this post seemed to take me forever to do....It's nearly time for me to close up shop so i'm of for now. I've raided the shop with loads of layouts in mind and i really hope i get to do plenty next week.....

Happy New Year

I hope everybody had a great Christmas and a smashing New Year....I did manage to see in the new year....just...i had planned to spend it scrapbooking but in the end i was cardmaking instead...you guesed it...Glenn was working again this new year but has already put in to have next christmas night and new year night off.....fingers crossed...don't get me wrong i did have a nice night with Ashleigh and of course Lateisha has a life and had a party to go to.....
Speaking of Lateisha......She got her Learners Permit last week.......so in other words, if you life in my area.....stay of the roads......haha nah she isn't to bad....we have been letting her drive the automatic just so she can get some confidence on the road and then we will get her a few driving lessons......but i must say I am pleased she got it.....on her 3rd go....
We had a great Christmas. this year was at Mat and Joannes and they day was really nice. Joanne like me likes to make a fuss and the table decorations we wonderful...I already have my thinking cap on for next year for our turn... I love this photo.....one because i don't have a lot of the four of us together ....and two cause i think it's funny.....I'm the only one standing up straight....how nice of the girls to make me feel tall....haha

Sweet Sixteen

This was a party that both Glenn & I were not looking forward too......Lateisha was turning 16.... I was a little excited about the idea of her birthday as well as taking her to get her Learners permit.....But first we needed to survive the party...
We have been pretty lucky with both the girls not really wanting a birthday party since being in High School.....so when Lateisha came to us and asked to have a 16th come farewell(leaving School) party....we thought "how bad could it be"........we were thinking around 30 kids maybe.....she just laughed and said more like 70.....we thought ok, but deep down both of us were not so sure...I know 70 may not sound like that many to some people, but to us it was...
We registered the party with the police, organized security and arm bands......all was going well until about 5.30pm when we had a storm roll in.....well as if the yard wasn't wet enough as it was, from all the rain we've had over the past few weeks.....
The party got started and in the end we had about 80 teenagers........all seem to have had a really good night and we were surprised when some kids said how COOL it was that they had to been checked into the party with there names being marked off and arm band being put on....
I must say that they did keep us busy all night keeping an eye on them and we were very lucky that only 3 out 80 that decided they didn't like each other....but all was under control pretty quickly and by midnight most had gone home. We ended up with about 30 who decided they wanted to stay the night and the next morning they ended up in the pool by 8am then we served them up bacon,eggs and toast and told them all politely that we wanted them gone by 10am......
4 loads of washing towels later, sweep and mop the floors and the house was semi back to normal.....mind you i still have to re wash the towels....mud really sticks.....
And this is what the yard looked like the next morning....

I was really surprised that none of them did the slide down the hill in the mud....because back in my day...."I would Have"

Just wanted to share this OTP with you all. Julie from A2Z Scraplets gave me a clock kit and asked me to work my magic. At first I was a little unsure, but once I got started I couldn't put it down. I must say one thing "I am so over fringing circles".
I have given myself the challenge to look outside the square. So this is what I have been doing. I am used to working with "pretty" so when I venture away from that it's a little strange. One thing I have been challenged with over the past few weeks is Vintage. It really isn't me but my god, once you get into the swing of things, it can be very addictive.

I'm a little sad this week. Why, because my eldest daughter finishes school this week and will venture onto Beauty College next year. Were ok with her leaving school in grade 10. If anybody knows her you will know why. She is the type of girl who will really thrive when doing something she really wants to do. She did work experience for two weeks in a beauty school earlier this year, and lets just say she was a different person every afternoon when she got home. She wouldn't shut up, and i say that in a nice way. She was always so excited when she got home and she would sit down with dad and I and go thru every detail of her day and what she learnt and what she was going to do the next day. That's when we knew where she was heading.
Oh and one other thing.....If you live in my local area, you might want to stay of the road from the 6th of December.......she gets her learners permit....hahaha....why do they have to grow up so fast. Why cant they stay in little forever......nah let me re-think that last thought....

Don't we just love Christmas? I just love the look on the girls faces first thing on Christmas morning....but you know there is one thing i don't like....and that's spending lots of time and effort making Christmas cards and giving them to people who don't appreciate them...so over the years i have just stopped giving them, but this year i have decided to do something different. This year i will be giving Christmas tags instead, at least this way they can put them on the tree....well that's the idea anyway....I still want to play with different shapes and ideas but here i my first one...

How good is Pink's new album....I've only been a fan for the past few years & I saw her last time she came and it was a great show, I couldn't believe how quick her tickets sold out for her Brisbane shows, well fingers crossed she puts on a few more otherwise were heading down to Melbourne for the week-end next year.... actually the more i think about that the more i like the idea, we have always wanted to take the girls to Melbourne....mmmm now that has me thinking......

Well this isn't going to well so far. I thought it would be easier to load the pics first, but as you can see my computer skills are going well.
I have a few ladies asking to have a look at my brag book that i taught at the workshop a couple of weeks ago, well here it is... this time i created something close to my heart, my darling husband and my girls. Maybe that's why i enjoyed and found it so easy to put together. sorry i could post all the pages but this should give you a good idea...they have been very popular and are a great gift idea for Christmas.
I feel like i have so many layout to catch you all up on, so with any luck i will share them with you soon....

In the mean time, for those having a punt on the big race....Good Luck....and for those who like myself will probably run out of time because I'm to busy at work (or Scrappin cause I'm behind in my class layouts) to go and put bet on....have a great week....

OMG has it really been over a month since my last post...where has the time gone....So much has happened.... Lateisha came down with G/Fever for about 6wks, then we had Glenn's 40th birthday and then we have workshops at the shop this week-end. Yeh i think that about sums up my last few weeks..... I have managed to do some layouts. But I must say i haven't done as much as i would like. Well I'm getting hurried up by the girls....Ive been on too long...yeh right all of 5 minutes.....

I've been wanting to share this layout for what seems like ages....and finally I can.
This layout and card were done as part of the Amy Butler Sketch Challenge done for Scrapbook Memories Vol 10 No 6, which by the way is out now. I've never done a sketch challenge before and i found this very hard at first, but once i got into it, I really enjoyed it and was happy with the end results.

You know your life is getting way from you when *1- you celebrate your 17th wedding anniversary *2 - your eldest daughter has been doing the practice test for her learners permit & *3 she only has 10wks of school left before she leaves to study to be a beautician, oh and i forgot one *4 you notice that your not as fit as your used to and you notice a few more wrinkles than you had the last time you looked...
Don't get me wrong, I still think Glenn is the yummiest and most sexiest man on the planet and i am so lucky to have spent the past 17yrs with him and look forward to the next 17, but it also tells me that I'm getting older. I don't normally think about all this stuff but so much is happening this year. We have Glenn's 40th in a few weeks, then Teish is 16 in yeh about 10-11wks and our baby girl was 13 this year. Teish cant wait to leave school and do Beauty and has her next 2yrs all planned out. She is already talking about leaving home when she finished her course.....What ever happened to staying home until you got married........And to top it off....now that the girls are getting older they don't need me as much......or that's what it feels like....but in saying that, i have had more time to scrapbook or should i say ...make cards.....here is one i whipped up the other week...we did this in class this week and it was good to see everybody interpretation of it......and as usual the photo does not do it justice.

As you all know, i am a huge Scrapbook fan but when it comes to card making, its not my strongest point, so here is one of my first attempts at stamping. I personally think it's cute and to be honest i look forward to expanding my knowledge in this area......it is so much fun ....and addictive.......

I thought it was about time I stopped in and said hi.....
Well give me a head cold anyday. I've been down and out with the flu and I'm finally back up and running trying to catch up....mind you I do have to say that sleep is so over rated, and I am so over that feeling of trying to swallow razor blades, so anybody who has it at the moment, I feel for ya..........and Dr Phill, if anybody wants to know what's going on in the world of Dr Phill, just let me know......

I did my first layout yesterday, my god it felt good to be back in the land of the living...I felt like i have'nt scrapbooked in sooooo long..... I will be able to share a few layouts with you tomorrow....sorry i left the camera at work......

Oh one more thing, how's this .....who has ever heard off a fire wood guy going on holidays in the middle of winter......what was he thinking.....we have been out of fire wood for the past couple of weeks.....i know, i know,, we live in sunny Qld.....but I'm like a frog at the moment, and our house is freezing......i rang a guy the other week and a "no show".....mind you i did sound like a horse when i rang.....he probably thought it was a prank call......well i finally got onto another guy and he rang back tonight to say we will have wood first thing in the morning.....so i will be as happy as a pig in mud......

Well I will be back real soon to share some layouts with you....

We decided that I already had enough germs and didn't need anymore so I hope all who are going to the EKKA have a great day, and enjoy some Moorish Nuts(showbag) for me.

Hey everyone, I thought it was about time I shared another layout with you. This layout was in this months Scrapbooking memories. OhOhOh i have a new addiction. Cards, well i have been doing cards now for a while but i have really got the bug at the moment. I have not long been introduced to stamping....my god is it addictive..almost as bad as scrapbooking. No guese as to what stock i will be adding to the shop now.

I finally got up enough courage this year to enter the Scrapbook Masters...I decided at 8pm on the Sunday night before the competition closed....and had to have all 4 designs finished within 36hr, in order to make sure my entry got to them in time cause we all know that Express Post means 2 days overnight.. All was going well, entries all finished and done, all saved to disc ready to go, I even decided to save a disc for me, while doing so i got interupted and didnt add a layout to my disc. Can anybody tell where im headed with this yet... Well you got it, i sent the wrong disc. I was so please with my entries and was going over the disc when i noticed what i had done. I can't beleive it....how stupid am i.....Well there is always next year.

Well guys, I've got the flu at the moment and my 5 mins of feeling normal is just about over. Have a great week-end.

I cant believe how long it's been since my last post. The shop has been keeping me busy as usual. The girls are keeping the "mum's taxi" service very busy. Ooohhh too be a teenager again. On second thoughts maybe not. My baby girl is growing up so fast. yeah i know, she is 13 and taller than me, I know that isn't hard. Being 5" short is a real joke with the girls now, they introduce me to their friends then add "isn't she short", they say I'm cute because of how short i am. I will have to show you all a photo of the girls and I so you know what i mean. I will get back to you on that one. But in the mean time, here is a layout I'd like to share.

I hope your all enjoying the school holidays. Week one is always the easiest. I dread week two when the kids get so bored that you and they cant wait to go back to school. Fingers crossed that the weather is as beautiful as today for the next 2 weeks.

We have all been sick over the past month......I think I was the one who got it started when i was sick for about 36hrs with a slight head cold, while i got over it pretty quick, the rest of the family got a really good dose of it and not just once, both the girls got it twice and too top it off, I now have it again, so Ii hope that it finishes with me....

As much as we need this rain and I just love scrapbooking in this sort of weather, my washing is piling up and i need time for it to dry. I have a dryer but i hate using it.....I just hate wasting power.....If Glenn worked for energex, i wouldn't mind so much but he doesn't and as with the price of things these days the dryer is the one thing that i hate to use. And hows the price of fuel this long week-end....gggrrrr I suppose I'm just lucky that Glenn and I are work-a-holics and don't have a life as we never get to go away that often.

Anyway I thought it was about time I shared some layouts with you all.....I always have plenty to share but as usual I have to wait until I have finished with then in classes.

Well one thing is for sure and that is that computers and I don't mix that well... I have finally worked out my mail merge that has been bugging me for ages now....and let me just say that i felt very stupid when it was staring me in the face......now its time to work on my newsletter email template.....now lets hope i have better luck with that....i am going to try and design my own, but please if anybody out there has an easy way for me to do this, please please let me know.

I thought it was about time that i got a start on my wedding album...I mean I have only been married 16yrs...Its just one of those topics that we put of doing because we don't want to muck them up.....and even though i have been scrapbooking for nearly 7yrs, wedding pages still worry me a little.... Not only is it funny to look back at how young we were but its nice to just look back and remember how much in love we were and to think how much we still are today. Is it possible to love somebody too much...????? I could just cobble him up sometimes.....As a mother with teenagers, i just hope that the girls will one day find someone as special as their dad....

well enough of the soppy stuff.....

I hope all your Brizzy girls are enjoying this rain.....It must have known that we need water in the pool !!!!!! with any luck it will rain all week-end and give me a good excuse to stay inside and get creative

Isn't it funny how you either love or hate the cold weather...normally i would say that i love it but at the moment my family does not....I shouldnt laugh but everybody in my family have all had the flu that is going around but me.....and to top it off...they have had it twice in the past 6wks...they all blame me saying that i must be the carrier....."sharing is caring" is what i always say.....

Well apart from looking after my sick children and husband, i have been busy with the shop as well as been busy helping a friend out with a special project for her work....I will share more about that in a few weeks when the project is finished....I have also been lucky enough to get some scrapbooking done. I have so many layouts to share with you all. Here are just a few.

Well it looks like I'm only going to be able to show you one layout as my computer doesnt want to play nice tonight. I will try and share some more with you tomorrow..

Picture this......as a scrapbooker who has two girls and just loves to use loads of ribbons and flowers on her layouts.....then is given a challenge that is way out of her comfort zone.....Boy layouts.....yep you got it....i have given myself a challenge to do more layouts that are for boys.... I was very pleased with my efforts with this layout and would love to know what you think. Once again i have use the Kaiser range of papers and rub ons for this layout, but they just have the greatest range that i couldn't help myself..

Well I'm having withdrawls, so now I'm off to work with some flowers and ribbons and maybe some cutting out of fiddly stuff. I havent done any of that for a while...

February must have been the busiest month ever.....and truth be told, i love being busy and i must admit i work better under pressure.... and no doubt this month promises to be just as busy with work.
Now for those of you who know me well...I think you should take a seat while you read on....I gave up smoking. I have been told it take three good attempts to really succeed. last week i decided to give Muzzstop a go....and yes it worked. I had 2 sessions and feel great....my go how much better does food taste when you don't smoke.....the only problem i am having is the boredom, i have no cravings, i am just bored...I knew in myself that it was time to give up and that if i wanted to start jogging like i have been going to start up for the past few months, that i had to give up......fingers crossed......if you think I'm a gym junkie now....it will only get worse...last time i gave up i put on 20 kilos.......
As we all know i have two girls, and you know how much i love working with flowers, ribbons and anything pretty....well how is this for working outside the square.......i find it so hard to work with boy layouts.....but i must admit i did have fun doing this one.....
Do you every do a layout that when your finished, you look at it think, yep that's nice but your still not happy with it and you know it is missing something....i wanted to keep this layout simple but every time i look at it i just want to play with it more and make it my busy usual style......it will get a tittle when i can think of the right one.....you can only put Best Friends on a layout so many times...
Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh.....i had a page published in Scrapbook Memories (Feb issue).....it was funny....i had people ringing me telling me that they recognised the girls photo before they realised that it was my page.....i knew it was due to come out, i just had the wrong issue in my head....my god how blonde am i.....I have another cumming up in Scrapbook Creations very soon and then another later in Scrapbooking Memories....After so many rejections it is nice to see one in print...

Growing up to fast

Is there ever a day when you dont want your children to grow up. Well mine is today. Today my eldest daughter Lateisha started her first part time job..We told her over the holidays that she needed to get a part time job to help pay for her City Beach clothing lifestyle, we never thought she would actually do it.. I cant in only 18mths she will be going for her learners permit...

To finish off, i would like to share a layout that i a few weeks ago. As much as we all enjoy scrapbooking, do you ever have that one layout that you're really happy with and you had fun doing....well this is one of them. I have another to share once i have finished doing it in classes.

Busy Busy Busy

I have been trying to post all week, and if it's not one thing it's another. I am feeling very un needed if you know what i mean. My baby girl started high school this week and I have felt very deflated all week. She on the other hand thinks it's great and is having a ball. Lateisha thinks it's great to have her social life back...
Now I have to laugh at these photos. The first is Ashleigh on her first day of grade 8 but the one I think is funny is the second one of both of them going off to high school for the first time together on Lateisha's first day....ok your wondering what i think is funny.....check out the hair on the both of them....

I hope everybody with children, enjoyed the first week back to school, I mean come on... you have to look foward to getting the house back in order...nah that can wait till after you have that first cuppa with your feet up, doing some scrapbooking in peace and quiet and then if your anything like me you run around about an hour before their due home and get all that house work done.....

I hope you all have a great week-end....I will be back later to share some layouts...but right now I'm beeing nagged to get of the computer so they can talk to their friends... i mean come on!!!they just spent all day with them at school, but no thats not enough because they were interupted by classes that cut into the social side of their schooling...ah to be a teenager again..

Don't we all agree Scrappers block is fun. I drew a blank on this layout but once i got started again everything else around me just had to wait until i finished...It's nice to do some layouts with Ashleigh instead of Lateisha...I am really loving the photos of Ashleigh at the moment. She is really starting to blossom and takes some great shots.
Have you ever been given a challenge that would take you well and truly out of your comfort zone? Well my sister-in-law asked me to do this picture frame for a gift that she wanted to give her brother...I had no problem with doing the frame...the only problem i had was that the subject for the frame was based on a baby BOY.....as you all know i have two girls....after doing layouts with pretty papers,flowers and ribbons i was just about pulling my hair out...i must say that after staring at the pictures and the frame for a few days i was happy with what i come up with and my sister-in-law liked to end result...

Christmas Day 2007

I was worried that as my girls get older that Christmas wouldn't be as much fun...Well how wrong was I. This year for the first time in many years, we did not have to wake the girls instead the girls woke us up. I found the 7am wake up scream and jump on the bed by both a little hard to handle as the night before we had to wait for the girls to go to bed and that didn't happen till about 1.30am...i could wait any longer so i called it a night at 12.30am and left it up to Glenn to put the stocking in the girls rooms.... The girls we well and truly ready for presents..they had moved the coffee table out of the way, and even got the garbage bag for all the paper. So with presents unwrapped and a beautiful bacon and eggs breakfast we all decided to hit the rumpas room and give the Nintendo Wii a go....I'm sorry but i just can't bring myself to making an absolute idiot of myself and left that job up the the others...I must say i haven't laughed so much in ages... Glenn has spent more time on the game than the girls...

Tonight I had the realization of my baby girl growing up slap me in the face... Ashleigh had her year 7 Graduation. I was so proud of her, but what topped the night for me was how beautiful she was all dressed up...I know as parents we are all biast, but hey were aloud to be....

I cant wait to scrapbook these photos, and as usual i took to many....or should i say as a scrapbooker that i probably didn't take enough....

Speaking of scrapbooking i have been busy at work with mum still in hospital, but i am happy to say she should be home for Christmas. To look at her you would never know she had a stroke, and she is walking really well now....as busy as i have been i have still managed to get some scrapbooking done...my favorite at the moment is a desk calender that i have done for next year. I have 3 big birthdays in our house next year...13th - 16th - and a 40th so that will explain the photos to go with every month... I have also done a clock that i will share just as soon as i find the right verse to go on it...I'm just loving off the page work at the moment, especially this time of year.

After being married for 16yrs, I have just realised one thing...Don't take your husband Christmas shopping, especially when he is in his "Scrooge Mc Duck" mood. Next week i think i will head out on my own. Bring on the 1st December so i can put the tree up. My youngest Ashleigh and i have taken over that roll as Glenn and Lateisha have no interest, it's also good quality time sent with Ash and she can now reach the top of the tree for the angel, i still need a step. At just 12 i already know she will be about 6ft, she gets the height of her dad, I'm just glad neither of the girls will know how much fun it is being 5ft tall.
I have been working on some layout for classes and i hope to share them soon, but here is another Christmas card I did using the Kaiser Wooden Flourishes and Rub ons

My darling daughters have had better social life than we do at the moment and really both Glenn and I have been feeling like a taxi service, but I have been told that goes with the territory when your a raising two teenage girls or really just teenagers in general...

Why is it that the closer to the end of the year I get, the busier we get..... As much as i love to scrapbook I also like to dabble in a little basic card making as well..... To get me going again, I came across a couple of cards that I did for classes last year....they are so much fun once you get started.....

I will have a few more to share with you over the coming weeks, but be warned, I am a huge fan of Christmas and probably the biggest kid in the house, I had been known for going a little overboard when my girls were little, but hey that was half the fun. I cant wait to really get into the spirit of Christmas..

I've really enjoyed the school holidays with the girls this past week and a bit. We have just hung out at home by the pool and spent quality time together. Mind you it has been like the local drop in centre with the girls having sleep overs every other night, but all in all its been fun as well.

As you can tell this just happens to be one of my favorite photos of the girls and I. I have used it on a couple of layouts. This photo is 12mths old now and i am trying to get the girls together for an updated photo but whenever they took good I'm in my tracky dacks or in my work clothes or vice versa.. The girls also have a habit of taking a lot of photos of themselves & their friends and by the time i get around to using the camera the batteries are flat.

I hope you enjoy the layout. I have one more to share with you that i am over the moon with, but as usual when you submit a layout they never seem to be in a hurry to get back to you. I can't wait to share it, i have gone out of my comfort zone and used bright pink and i think it looks great. I hope to share it with you soon.

I am happy to say that all my class work is up to date and I've been able to scrapbook just for me. Although the following page is a class it has given me great inspiration to get creative over the week-end. I find my scrapbooking is heading in a new direction and all my techniques that i have been doing over the past few months are now starting to blend together and i am just loving the effects, but funny enough is that I'm slowing getting over loads of flowers and ribbons.

They are still a big part of my work but it's nice to play with new products.

Do you ever wonder what to do with those not so perfect photos that you've taken and you really don't have the heart to put them at the back of the photo box. Well i was looking at the photos below and thought exactly that. This is what i call three typical Ozzie blokes, rugged, down to earth and what you see is what you get. This is my darling husband and my two brother-in-laws. Once again 90% of this layout was done using the Cricut Machine.

This is what i call the 30 minute quickie. I wanted to do a simple layout with little fuss. This is my girly girl Ashleigh. She just loves when i do pink pages for her.

I'm feeling very romantic this week-end. Glenn and i celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. He gave me the most beautiful card with the most beautiful words written by him that bought tears to my eyes. I hope to do a page for him to let him know just how special he is. Even though he already knows, i know he likes it when i do layouts for the two of us.

I hope everybody is keeping well and has managed to stay clear of the dreaded flu that is going around. Glenn and i took Lateisha and her friend to the EKKA last week end and if you ask me- it is a great way to waste money, But for the girls they had a great time. Ashleigh on the other hand chose to go to a friends house instead, which if you ask me was a smart move. We felt we should spoil her a little more with the show bags to make up for her not coming. Well for us that's the EKKA done for another couple of years.

Well i did it, i manage to keep my secret from the girls about the Cristina Aguilera concert. I must admit that it was hard and with the girls having such a busy social life they had made plans for that night. Once we had given them an ultimatum being a party or a concert, it only took them a couple of second to make their minds up... then it was "what are we going to wear".. All in all the girls had a great night and now they are saving for their next concert.. what have i created. Sarah and Ashleigh look excited but of course Teish has that yeh whatever look on her face. She is going through that "I know whats best stage" meaning that you tilt your head and don't look at the camera because of course that takes a better photo...that's right it looks great doesn't it and has left me not wanting to scrap these pictures....aaahhhh to be a teenager that knows all...

I have had some fun playing with some wooden products. Not what i would normaly do but i had fun.

I have also been playing with my Cricut machine. This layout is 90% done with the machine. it was hard not to use other flowers.

I just wanted to share some layouts that i have done over the past few weeks. The first is of me baby-well not so little daughter Ashleigh and the second is of my husband Glenn and his brother Matthew.
I was never to sure on using large letters on a page, but i was happy with the way this layout turned out.

This is a basic layout using the Cricut machine to do most of the work. I never feel very comfortable doing masculine pages. I find it hard to work out of my comfort zone. And who said you cant use flowers and ribbons on a boys page. I still manage to find room for them. I have given myself a challenge to work on pages that i feel are way beyond me - meaning masculine. I am working on one of Glenn at the moment that is taking a little longer than i had planed. I hope to share that with you soon. Give me girl pages any day.

While i still love to Scrap, i have found a new addiction in Card making. Here are just a couple of basic cards that i did for a class.

Did anybody go to the Pink Concerts last month? or better still get photos? I was a great concert. The girls didn't want to come with me so this month i hope to surprise them with their first ever concert-Cristina Aguilera. It should be fun..I can just imagine myself being the groovy old girl in the mosh pit.....ha

I remember a saying that my mother used to use all the time when i was a kid and it drove me nuts, but how true she was....Remember the saying "There are never enough hours in a day". You would think that after I sold my salon that i would be crazy to think that being self employed once again would be any easier than the first time. I must admit that now the girls are getting older, they are a lot less demanding of my time or should i say "It's no longer cool to hang with your parents" and the internet, telephone and ipods are much more interesting than us old folks.. I know there are never enough hours but one thing i didn't think would happen so fast and that's my baby girls growing up so fast, it's like one minute they are so dependant on you and the next they are young teenagers trying to find there own way in the world and the best you could hope for it that they dont sumble to often. I just want to hold onto them and never let go.. The best thing about them growing up at the moment is thay are starting to realise what a great friendship sisters can have and they love the camera and are willing to stand next to each other and take the most beautiful photos....

This "My Girl" layout was done using the Cricut Machine.

I hope you all had a great mothers day. I got to spend mine exactly as i wanted....and the girls even chose a gift that i really needed - a new wallet and a block of chocolate. I lasted all of 24hours which in my book is good.

WOW my first layout in print. It seems like it took forever. I submitted this layout way back in September last year. For all of you who have been wanting to submit but are to shy to, go on just do it. I got knock back after knock back, but you just need to keep at it. I still get knock backs but maybe what i am submitting is just not what there looking for in the current issue they are working on... I see some of what i think are the most beautifull layouts at work and yet the owners tell me they got knocked back...

We all have our own style and as long as you are happy with the end result that's all that matters. Hey maybe i should start a magazine for us scrappers who get rejected all the time....hahaha.

Hello everybody

I can't believe how fast these past few weeks have gone. I really didn't think it had been that long since my last post. Things have been really busy at work and by the time i get home and do all the family duties they girls have well and truly planted themselves at the computer table and i have to fight the girls all night for it and when i do get on all i get is "mum how long will you be".

Thank god for laptops. I'm really enjoying the teenage years........yer we have our ups and downs but in general the girls are a lot of fun at the moment and they still like to hang with us every now and then. As usual they have a better social life than we do.

I hope everybody had a great Easter. We spent time at home this year. We had planned a trip to Newcastle to see my sister and her family but somehow work had other plans. I did manage to get some me time at my table, which was great. I love it when i can put my head down and the ideas just keep on flowing. Isn't it funny that it only ever last for a short time before you get scrappers block again.

As you can see, i am still under the influence of Carol and Joanne with this layout. You just have to try 3D work. It's very addictive as are cards once you get a few under your belt.

Well i did it. It's 12mths today that i gave up smoking. I can say I do feel better for it, but I'm not to fussed on the extra weight that i gained. So I joined Bootcamp again this month, and i must say it felt great. Having a month off was a bad idea. All those promises i made to myself to go to the gym more and eat less. Lets just say that didn't happen.
This month i have made new promises to celebrate the 12mths effort. Eat the right food and work harder to work of the extra weight. I've done it before so I know I can do it. Will keep you posted.

I have been loving this rainy weather we've been having. To me its the best time to scrapbook and not feel guilty that no work is getting done outside. I have a thing for making cards at the moment, so as soon as the camera battery charges i will share them with you. I will also share the other 3D page that I manage to complete.

I know Feburary is a short month but is it just me or has this month just gone by so fast. It's been a busy month at work and home but I have managed to get some layouts done.

I am a fan of Coral Janson, who is the 3D Queen of scrapbooking and my sister-in-law who also does great 3D work and even though paper tole has been around forever with cardmaking, Carol just makes it look stunning when it is incorporated in Scrapbooking. Both Carol and Joanne makes it look so easy that i decided to give it a go. This was my first attempt at 3D Scrapbooking and i must say " I am Hooked". I hope you all like it. Even Glenn like this page that much that we put it in a black shodow box and it will soon have a place on a wall.

I hope to start another 3D page this week se with any luck i will have another to share soon. On to other news. If you didnt know it already, i am a huge fan of the Biggest Loser-"go BLUE team' I'm back of to bootcamp in March. I must say that I did enjoy having the month off, but its amazing how quick your fitness level drops even after you promise yourself you will go to the gym more to make up for not doing BC. I sometimes think i just exercise so i dont feel so bad about all the wrong food I eat. I am a real sweet tooth. If anybody knows a way around this please let me know.

Now the girls are back to school, Glenn & I are back at work. It's like holidays-what holiday's.

It wont be long and they are back before you know it.. Has anybody seen any Easter Eggs in the shops yet. Oh hold on, they will put them on the shelves the day after Valentine's Day.

We took the girls and friends to Wet 'n' Wild on Sunday. I think we saw the girls twice, sorry three times the whole day. 1-when we got there and were giving them the run down on the rules of the day. 2- lunch time and 3- when the water park closed. We all had a great time.
Sorry to say that we only applied sunscreen 3 times and still managed to get a little red. I think we were all in bed by 9pm which is early for us, and gee did it feel good to sleep in on Monday morning.
I didn't join up for Boot camp this month. I did however wake up at 6am for a moment and smile to myself because i knew that the session was about to get started and i knew what they had ahead of them that morning.
2 minutes each of sit-ups, push-ups as well as grunts and the best way to finish the session of is with a 1-klm time trial..
I plan to go back in March, but in the mean time i have an itch to get some serious scrappin done. I still plan to hit the gym. I have this addiction with Step class at the moment. I must admit i do feel a little guilty that i didn't join up this month. (Ask me how guilty at 5am on Wednesday morning....hahaha)

I did this page of Lateisha and her best friend Sarah over the holidays. I'm still getting used to the whole using black and white card but i really am starting to like it.

As you can see i still have this thing for ribbons and flowers. I got Lateisha & Sarah while they were in a silly muck around mood and gee did they play up to the camera.

I did have some good news last week. If you remember late last year i was hoping that i was going to have my first page published, and i thought it got rejected. Well I'm happy to say i got a contract and my page will appear in Scrapbook Memories 8-11.. I cant wait to see it in print...It just goes to show you should never give up trying.

Another year of memories ahead

I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas and an even better New Year. Glenn had to work this New Year so the girls and i watched the fireworks on TV (wasn't Mr Newton a treat) and i scrapbooked until 2am in the morning. I haven't done that in a long time so it felt good, I'm normally in bed by 10.30pm.

Now that the girls are growing up and can amuse themselves, they are having the best holidays ever. We have been to the movies a few times, spent time as a family by the pool, got out DVD's and had pajama day's, it's been nice. We even booked Foxtell before Christmas in hope that the girls would enjoy that while on holidays, but when the guy came to install it, we had 2 drops of rain and he said it couldn't be done so now they have to wait until February. NOT HAPPY .

I'm going to miss the time with the girls when they go back to school. I'm one of those mums who really enjoy time with the kids on the holidays. I'm a bit of a work-aholic, so what time i do spend with my family is special.

Now the girls are a little older and like to pose for the camera.

Thought of the day: If your partner was to pass away- would you remember what they felt like?
I know it's not something that you want to think amount, but how often do you spend quality time with your partner. This thought came to me when i realised that both Glenn and I were spending very little time together because we were just to busy with "life". Does that make any sense? Even if we just go up to the local shop, we never leave the house without a kiss goodbye, it annoys the girls but i just hope that one day they will understand why.

I just love the photos i have used on this layout, but until now never really knew what i wanted to do with them. The photos really say alot so i want to keep it simple.

Well that's all for now, I'm off to do another layout. I have the bug at the moment, so fingers crossed.

Where does the time go. I didn't think it had been that long since my last post..but it has. At lot has happened this month..
* My eldest daughter Lateisha had her 14th birthday
* I have just about finished another month of Bootcamp
* Glenn and i managed to get 90% of our Christmas shopping done in 2 days
* I'm about to be draged out to the boxing day sales.....this will be my first time...
and Christmas will be forgotten about in a week

Well i hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day..
We spent Christmas Eve with the Glenn's family. We had a greate day eating, swimming, eating, swimming, eating a little more & kids swimming a little more until we all complain that we have eaten to much and are water logged.
All I can say is bring on January Bootcamp because after what i have eaten over the last 24hrs, i think im going to need a very good work out.
We had bring a friend day on Saturday at Suttons Beach. I am so glad we dont do it on the beach all the time... I was so glad when Glenn said he would come along to see what i have learnt to love so much. He did enjoy it and i managed to hold my own and not make a fool of myself . I knew he would do well as he has a pretty active job, but i think he forgot how i felt in my first week way back in November... I felt like i had been hit by a truck - I could feel every muscle i forgot that i had and the second day after your first is always the best...haha. Sorry I can't stop laughing.....Glenn is sooooo sore and wouldn't make any sudden moves and wasn't in a hurry at all today...but in the end he did say he liked it... He said he still wont give my any sympothy as its all self -inflicted.

Starting Bootcamp was the best thing i did. I was close to lighting up again as my easy fix to loosing the extra weight i gained after i quit smoking , so now if you ask me if i want a smoke or want to go for a jog....the jog wins every time...now if you don't find me scrapbooking you will find me in the gym/bootcamp.

Speaking of scrapbooking, i would like to share a layout i did after we got back from holidays in October. You cant rush these things.

This is one of the rare family photo's now that the girls are getting older and it is no longer cool to be seen with us.. I hope you like...I hope to get a few pages done over the next week while i'm on holidays....fingers crossed.

Bootcamp....Hooyah

Hooyah.....we did it...we survived Bootcamp

If you had asked me 4 weeks ago to name any of the people in the photo i would have said "Yeh right", and today when i was showing Glenn the pics i had taken i was happy with myself that i could name everybody... these have been my new friends 3 mornings a week for the past 4 weeks, while we all try our best to get fit. Some have had some great results Steve(middle-top of tyre) lost 10kgs, with a few of the girls having great results loosing up to 6kgs, but what we all got out of it the most was improved fitness and the pleasure of making new friends. I must say the funniest person i have met in a long time is Jo (middle-bottom of tyre) and just because she is hidding, Jamie needs a mention as well. My fitness partner in crime is Kylie (front left) We have very similar fitness level and found it easy to push each other that little bit harder.

Now if you ask me do push ups on my toes, grunts or go for a 40minute run, i am happy to join in. (Well maybe not to happy to do the grunts.)

For the past weeks these guys have brought out the best and the worst in all of us, and the best this is that most of us are coming back for more in December.

You do grow to like them after the first week.

Well, i survived my first week at bootcamp. I even have injury to show for it. Well not a full on injury, we all have a very nice (nasty) rash from rolling around on the grass. It's hard work, but i look forward to seeing the results in 4 wks. I have notice that my fitness level has increased, so thats something. I do plan to scrapbook a page about Bootcamp. I already have a name for it -"The Good, Bad and the Ugly" For those of you not sure what boot camp is. If you watch The Biggest Loser when Bob takes them to the beach for their work out - well thats how i would explain it. Lets just say i have a new fondness for those people on the show.

I am still working on a layout at the moment that has been bugging me for the past week, but i would like to share another layout that i did while i was on holidays.

I'm still in the wedding mood. It was the most romantic wedding I have been too in a long time. There wasn't a dry eye in the chapel. (Including the Bride and Groom) The Chapel overlooked the ocean and with the sounds of the waves , the soft breeze, it all made for a beautiful setting.

Everything about the day was just so prefect.

I know holidays are for relaxing and spending time with the family, which i did. But i couldn't help myself. Here are the pages I got done on holidays.

Now the holidays are over, it's back to normal life and time to loose the extra few kilo's that spending time with good company and fine food has put on.

I started Bootcamp (fitness program), this week so fingers crossed i will be a new person in 4weeks. I have taken a before photo and cant wait to see the after shot. Will keep you posted.

Well i hope you all had better luck than i did with the Melbourne Cup. Hands up for a public holiday in Qld.....

A weeks holiday is never long enough. I need another week of to get over the one i just had..
It was nice to get away. The weather wasn't that flash for the first half of the week, but made up for it at the end. The girls and I did loads of shopping. Cairns Central was great retail therapy.
I think we should have shares in SUPRE' by now. The girls and I spent a lot of time at the resort laying around the pool. Glenn wasn't into the shopping like we were...don't know why... he didn't get left out. He went out with the boys Go kart racing, Deep Sea Fishing and of course they got a round of Golf in before the wedding.

The wedding was just beautiful, it was in a little chapel on the beach front. It was a small gathering with just 12 of us all in total including the bride and groom. Which i think made it all the more special. It was the first wedding i have been to where all the girls went barefoot to the reception...including the bride. We had the reception on the beach. It was just great. The food was just to die for. (Look out Boot camp here i come) I cant beleive how good food taste when your on holidays. Glenn and I both came home a little rounder. Food taste so much better when you don't smoke. (It's been 6mths now)

Just in case your wondering..I did get some Scrapbooking in. I only got 2 pages done, but i was happy with my efforts. Will share with you as soon as i take some photos.

How bad do you have to be to be called a "Scrap-a-holic"? Glenn and I are taking the girls to Cairns for a friends wedding tomorrow and as much as I've been looking foward to this trip all year, I am also looking foward to getting some Scrapbooking done... I know most of our days are full with sight seeing, shopping, sight seeing and more shopping, oh and a wedding, but you must agree with me when i say that scrapbooking is a great way to unwind after a nice day in the tripics..
Mind you i love this rain we are getting tonight, its also good scrapbooking weather.
Well I'm of to pack (there's nothing like leaving things to the last minute).

I did this page a few months ago and now the magazine doesn't want it i can finally share it with you all. Lucky i have thick skin...it wont stop me from trying again. I hope you all enjoy it.. Well i'm sorry the holidays are over. I really enjoy hanging out with my girls. It was finaly warm enough to use the pool for the first time since we had it put in way back in May. You couldnt get the girls out, and towels, my god why cant they learn to hang them up to dry instead of using 10 towels a day.
Do you ever think to yourself "why the kids are busy, i'm going to get creative" and then when you sit down you get scrappers block. I hate when that happens. I started this page and it turned out completley different to what i had planned. I love doodling at the moment so all my pages have a little. I had no intention of doing it on this one but as you can see i couldnt help myself.
The girls don't get to see their cousins very often and as usual Lateisha looks like she is enjoying them, but they just love her and Ashleigh gets to act like a 2yr old and get away with it.

Well today we all got to watch as Australia said good-bye to a great bloke Steve Irwin. Like many of you i shed a tear. Many in fact. !!!!Crikey!!!!

Today i am able to finally show you the page I was working on a few weeks ago. Sorry i couldn't show you earlier but i just wanted to wait to hear back from the magazine. Lucky I have thick skin. I had a great week-end with the family, the big boys went fishing again. I had planed to scrapbook with my sister-in-law, but we spent the night on the computer with her giving me lessons on how to do my blog. We did get our scrapbooking gear out and look at it, I even popped a flower, now all i have to do is finish the page. I'm working on one of those pages that is going to take me a few days. I need to get up and walk away pages. Will let you know how i go.

My Passion: Scrapbooking

I was introduced to Scrapbooking 6yrs ago by a old friend of Glenn's. I dont like hosting parties but i was interested in seeing what this Scrapbooking was all about. I invited a few family and friends around and we had a great time. It didnt take long to get hooked. My sister-in-law Joanne and I didnt take long to find all the Scrapbook stores on the Northside of Brisbane. We had no idea at what we were getting ourselves into (neither did our husbands) . Glenn was like any other husband at first, if you asked him what he thought of a finished page he would always say "that's nice babe". After a while i would slowly get some input from him. Now he will look over my shoulder and say "why dont you add this or why dont you add that". It's nice to know he appreciates what I do. Ashleigh likes to Scrapbook with me and is always will to pose for a photo. Lateisha on the other hand always gives me that look as to say " hurry up mum", i dont think we will see to many pages with Lateisha and a smile on her face.

One thing i love about Scrapbooking is the people you meet. I have made many friends while doing this craft.
I like that Scrapbooking is my time, time for me to be me, not a mother, not a wife, just me, let my hair down kick my shoes off and just get with the girls and talk about anything and everything that pops in your head. I love Crops, they are a great way to get to know your Scrappin friend and have a few laughs.

I have been inspired by my sister in law over the past few weeks.. I have always been a fan of her work.

I was having some problems working out the photo machines at Harvey Norman and somehow managed to print around 20 photos in 6 x 8 size, I didn't think anything was wrong untill i had to pay for them..thinking that i would have been just as easy and cheaper to print them out myself at home, it wasnt untill i picked the photos up that i realized i had made a mistake with the size. So now my new favorite size of photo is 6x8. I must admit they are very easy to work with.
